Paranthropus, first discovered by a school boy in South Africa in 1938 was throught to be a descendant of the Australopithecine species. It is not thought to be a direct descendant of the modern Homo Sapiens. Paranthropus was a relatively unskilled ape man, without complex language or tools and probably fire as well. The recreationof the species at left shows no distinct male or female gender distinctiveness. The head shape with its small brain pan is somewhat reminiscent of modern day microencephalics such as Kookoo the Bird Girl.
